The Food

The Tacos
These tacos are legendary and when people speak of Desperados they undoubtedly say “You’ve got to try those tacos!”  The signature Desperados Tacos outsell the Tex Mex and Fajtias everyday and have done so since the beginning.  As a matter of fact Oh Hey Dallas named them #16 of the Top 100 Things You Must Consume In Dallas and they were also chosen as the Dallas Observer’s Top 5 Tacos.

The Margaritas
These heavenly elixirs have always been the driving force behind the Desperados lore. The LA Margarita has been awarded the “Best Margarita in Dallas” a total of five times with one ‘Best of the Best Hall of Fame Margarita’ bestowed upon them by D Magazine.  In the 70’s Jorge remembers that no one was using fresh squeezed lime juice in their margaritas.  People in fact called him loco for taking the time to squeeze all those limes.  Who’s laughing now?

Other Menu Items
The Guacamole is an original family recipe and awarded the Best Guacamole by the Dallas Observer.  The Chile Relleno cannot be missed with slow-cooked birkset, sweet raisins and butter toasted almonds.  The rich Chile con Carne served atop the enchiladas is a Terlingua Chili Cookoff World Champion.  The Ceviche is a fan favorite proving itself to be the “Best Appetizer” at the 1995 All-Star Game here in the metroplex.  And the Plato Aniversario (formerly El Treintaycinco) is an amazing combination of three of our most popular entrees served on one plate.
